The people of Britain takes pride in
remembering her Iron Lady, Margret Thatcher as she has transformed the face of Britain
with her policies. There is also one Iron Lady in India and she is Congress leader
Sonia Gandhi. She may not be called Iron
lady of India but she is certainly Iron lady of Congress Party. She has done
nothing for integration of India but she and her children have done a lot to
integrate congress party and to add allies to it to help congress party in
ruling India. Indian people cannot take any pride at all in having her but
Congress Party can take pride up to some extent in having her .
Margret Thatcher promoted low inflation, small
state and strict control on money supply through free market as part of
policies of Thatcherism but Sonia Gandhi promotes high inflation, large state and
increased money supply through increased government control on market as part
of policies of Sonia Gandhism.
When Margret Thatcher was ill whole Britain
prayed for her early recovery but Sonia Gandhi went secretly to abroad for her
treatment so that no body may come to know about her illness as if she was sure
that no Indian except few congress leaders would desire her early recovery.
Indeed, Sonia Gandhi has changed the face
of India in last nine years but not in manner Thatcher has changed face of
Britain.
