Election versus Beauty Contests: Jai Ram Ramesh

Why Jai Ram Ramesh said that Elections are not beauty contests. Actually he is unhappy why it is not. If fighting elections is like competing beauty contests then it would have become easier for political parties to contest elections as all the parties would have taken the list of top ten models or top ten Bollywood heroines and choose the best of all as their representative for elections. Instead of elections campaigns they would have organized dance shows or star nights with their party candidates. People would also be able to enjoy great stuff of free entertainment during election campaigns. The parties would give good offers to people such as enjoying a date with contestant, to enjoy free dinner with celebrity, to have cup of coffee with heroine, to make free call to celebrity through a toll free number. People will not have to listen boring long speeches of political leaders. People would always desire for fall of government to enjoy festivity of midterm poll. Bollywood heroines would have an alternative career option. Censor board will not be able to ban any movie with increased authority of heroines and top models. The dress designers would start bringing out their collection of clothes for elections on regular basis. Hairstylists would also decide hairstyles for heroines for elections. During election campaigns there would be ramp walk in beginning and end.Ugly looking people will say good bye to politics as heroines would like to be surrounded by some young and goodlooking people.The whole country will be heaped with training centres for polticians for their grooming.
